But I don’t know

I hear this phrase so often that I decided to see if RootsTech was intererested in a class on it. Aside from a staff training and one recorded meeting, I haven’t officially taught anything! I work one on one with whoever wants to listen to possibilities that may or may not work.

Surprise! RootsTech:2022 “But I don’t know the language” class, taught by yours truly, and chicken as ever. Actually, I am super excited it is all online otherwise I probably would chicken out! There is a new chat feature this year, so be sure to check it out with the class and add your voice. I’d love to hear your thoughts and what you were expecting vs what works for you!

Hopefully, the tips and tools I use to do family history in many languages can help you feel more confident to try. I am only fluent in American English but have loved dabbling in other latin and germanic languages to help others with the language barrier and to see the world in a new way. I do not have experience with character based languages but many of the tips I suggest may work for you as well, especially the end of the class about new ways to reach out.
